Our Services

Early Childhood

Early childhood early services are for children aged 0-7. Our approach focuses on building you and your child’s capacity in every day settings, so your child can be provided with opportunities to grow and learn. It takes a village to raise a child therefore we support the whole team around the child including parents, early childhood teachers and schools.

  • We provide comprehensive and well-integrated early intervention supports, under a family-centered and best practice framework.

  • Our team of experienced speech pathologists and occupational therapists work with you to provide the education, tools and resources you need to support and develop their skills.

  • It is about giving your child the right supports to enable them to have the best possible start in life.

School-Aged

School aged supports are for children between 7-17 years old.  These supports focus on key areas of life for school aged children such as building independence, learning, making friends and engaging in their community.

  • We provide a comprehensive school aged support, under a person-centered and best practice approach.

  • We focus on your meaningful goals and work closely with you and your family to achieve them.

  • Given the importance of working together we provided supports at home, in school or out in the community.

  • Our therapists have experience in assessing and prescribing assistive technology to support independence and engagement.

  • We offer speech pathology and occupational therapy at this time.

Adults

Whether you may need to access therapy supports from birth, after a significant medical event (such as an acquired injury) or a one-off consultation, Kind Therapy will work with you to support you and your family to your individual needs.

  • Therapy treatment programs may be consultative or formalized programs that are implemented within blocks of time agreed together with your therapist.

  • Our therapy team has worked with people within their own homes, group homes, rest homes, within their workplace or even at the local café depending on your needs and goals.

  • We specialise in dysphagia supports, education, communication and neurological rehabilitation.

  • We are always looking for new ways to help our clients maintain their social networks through group therapy opportunities.

Neuro-rehabilitation

Currently there are more than 700,000 people in Australia living with a brain injury (Bureau of Statistics) with limited access to the right therapy supports. Brain injury may be caused by an accident, trauma, drug abuse, stroke or disease (such as multiple sclerosis, MND or Parkinson’s disease) and not only affects the person but their families and support systems.

  • The Kind team will tread gently and endeavour to help you navigate through this event in you or your child’s life.

  • Our speech pathologists specialise in brain injury rehabilitation and will work with you, your communication partners and the acute healthcare provider in order to maximise your participation and reach your goals.

  • We also provide education of brain injury supports.

  • For paediatric supports, we are also PITS (post intervention rehab supports) registered.

  • We can provide you with speech therapy and occupational therapy - please get in contact to see how we may be able to help you today!

Acknowledgement of Country

KIND Therapy acknowledges and regrets the imposition to the lives and culture of Aboriginal people which occurred as a result of European colonisation within Australia. We would like to acknowledge the traditional custodians of Country throughout Australia and their connections to the land, sea and the community. We will continue to pay respects to their elders past and present and all aboriginal people, especially those we may meet as part of our work.
