Shala Smith
Occupational Therapist
Shala is an Occupational Therapist at Kind Therapy. She completed her undergraduate studies in Health Sciences at Deakin University before going on to earn her Master of Occupational Therapy at Swinburne University in Melbourne. Since graduating, Shala has worked in early intervention and worked closely with children to support their development through various stages of growth and learning.
Shala is passionate about creating meaningful and lasting change in the lives of young children, helping them to reach their full potential. She takes pride in crafting therapy that is both fun and engaging, ensuring that children are excited to participate in their therapeutic journey. By utilizing a client-centred and strength-based approach, Shala tailors her sessions to each child’s unique needs, empowering them to build confidence and resilience.
Shala has experience supporting a range of developmental areas, including fine motor skills and handwriting, gross motor skills, sensory processing, emotional regulation, attention and concentration, and social and play skills. She works closely with families and other professionals to develop a holistic approach that fosters growth in all areas of a child's life.
